The Pee Wee #1 team picked up two more wins over the past two weeks to run their regular season record to five (5) wins, one (1) loss and two (2) ties.
Last week, against Grand Bend, Jake WALKER pitched out of an early first inning jam and allowed Mitchell to take a 6 - 2 lead after two innings. Brayden CRONIN-HORAN pitched an effective third inning and fourth inning while Jake MONDEN finished the game on the mound.
On the offensive side of things, Reid RAMSEYER hit a monster home run to get things started for the team. Later, Drew MacLEAN and Callum McMANN scored three runs each and Reid McKENZIE reached base twice.
Mitchell was victorious with a 15 - 6 win.
This week, in Goderich, Mitchell capitalized on some sloppy Goderich defence and cruised to a 21 - 6 win. Curtis EIDT pitched the first two innings, while James COPELAND pitched the third and fourth and Damon KAY finished the game on the mound. Alec MURRAY scored three runs as did call ups Tanner DIETZ and Wade MONDEN. EIDT hit two doubles.
