Minor Mosquitos Take 2
The D.L. Hannon minor mosquitos continued their WOBA winning streak with a convincing 24 to 12 win against Clinton, on June 11th, at home in Mitchell.

Evan Janssen got things going on the mound for the Astros including getting the team out of a bases-loaded jam with a strike-out to end the first inning.  Braden Pennings scored on a two run double during the six-run first inning for the home team.  Down by four runs, a lead-off triple from Ryan Klumper got the bats started in the second for Mitchell followed by a home run blast from Zack Siemon-Hergott, and singles from Logan Verberne, Ethan Jarmuth, Olen Hopf and Elijah Bender in another 6 run inning, giving the Astros a two-run advantage heading into the third. Clinton tied the game in the top of the third inning, however Mitchell rallied to pull ahead by 6, including a two-run double from Verberne.  Closer Elijah Bender kept the Astros ahead by allowing no runs scored for Clinton in the 4th and final inning, securing the Astros the win.

Then WOBA action continued for the team on the road, as they travelled to Exeter on June 19th.  Excellent pitching coming from starter Elijah Bender during the first two innings, including three strikeouts, followed by an impressive mix of pitches and two strikeouts in the third from reliever Braden Hoegy, contributed to the Astros success.  Closer, Jonah Gibbings had an awesome outing stiking out two and allowing no runs in the fourth, to securely notch another win for the team.   Max Hannon, lead the offense blasting a three run home run, while Charlie Wolfe produced a two-run triple and RBI single.  Ethan Jarmuth and Ryan Kumper each contributed with two run doubles, while Logan Verberne, Evan Janssen, Max Hannon and Braden Pennings all drove in additional runs for the team, in their 18-8 win against the Exeter Minors.
