The D.L. Hannon Minor Mosquitos had a fantastic WOBA year
end tournament, going undefeated throughout round robin play and capturing the
title in a one-sided game against Clinton Minor on August 12th.
In the first game of the tournament Mitchell
faced Clinton minor and would start out strong with Ryan Klumper posting a
triple that would score Ethan Jarmuth and Logan Verberne. Later in the inning Jarmuth would hit a grand
slam home run that would score the 6th and final run of the
inning. Brayden Pennings would start on
the mound for the Astros striking out 2 of the 5 batters faced that
inning. Mitchell would add 6 more runs
in the top of the second inning and would hold Clinton to 2 runs as the boys looked
sharp defensively in the bottom of the 2nd inning.
