D.L. Minor Mosquitos Continue Red-Hot Streak
The D.L Hannon Minor Mosquitos continued their red-hot streak, recording their sixth WOBA win, defeating the Clinton Mustangs 24-13 on July 3rd.
In the middle of a heat wave, Mitchell’s bats were all fired up with Jonah Gibbings belting a deep line drive to centre field, bringing round Zack Siemon-Hergot, who started the game with a lead-off double around, while Max Hannon added a single to load the bases. A bases loaded walk from Charlie Wolfe added another run to the scoreboard, while Braden Hogey drove in one run with a sacrifice single, and Logan Verberne also contributed with a single in the 6 run first inning. The mosquito’s didn’t look back in the second with Evan Janssen keeping the momentum going with a lead-off double, as Ryan Klumper singled, and Olen Hopf added a 3 run home run during the inning. Ethan Jarmuth, Janssen, and Brayden Pennings each added singles, while Elijah Bender doubled in the third. Jarmuth added a two run single, with Pennings doubling bringing the final run in during the fourth. Verberne, Gibbings, Hannon, and Jarmuth each took an inning on the mound and maintaining the Mosquito’s comfortable lead in the win.
