Stickhandler Tier 1 Major Rookies drop first loss in league play
The Stickhandler Tier 1 Major Rookies saw their 5-game league unbeaten streak snapped on Tuesday night, falling 17-11 to visiting Lucan-Ilderton. The opening inning saw a 4-4 tie, but Lucan-Ilderton pulled away in the second inning with a 7-run outburst. Scoring 3 runs each were Jarrett Van Bakel and Lucas Roobroeck, with Carson Harmer and Ryan Hubbard each crossing the plate twice. Defensively, Jack Miller earned an outfield assist by throwing out a runner at second base. The locals are now off to celebrate Canada Day, returning to action again on July 7th hosting the Listowel Legionnaires at 6:30pm.
