Stickhandler Tier 1 Major Rookies drop pair of exhibition games vs Dorchester
The Stickhandler Tier 1 Major Rookies squared off against Dorchester recently in a home-and-home exhibition series to prepare both teams for the OBA Tournament on Labour Day Weekend. Travelling to Dorchester on August 18th, the locals ran into a very strong opponent and were sent home reeling from a 25-4 defeat. Hosting Dorchester on August 24th proved a bit better result, with a closer score of 22-12. Jarrett Van Bakel and Jack Small each scored 3 runs in the losing cause, combining for five extra-base hits. Doubles were also recorded by Jack Miller and Ryan Hubbard.
Defensively, Mitchell turned a couple of double plays in the infield. Outfield assists were led by Kellen Russwurm with a pair and Miller with one, narrowly missing a second one at first base on a hard hit ground ball to right field.
