Stickhandler Tier 1 Major Rookies win final exhibition game
The Stickhandler Tier 1 Major Rookies travelled up Hwy 23 north to Listowel on Sept 2 for a final exhibition game before the OBA tournament this weekend, returning home with a 21-9 victory. Mitchell's bats were a solid team effort all through the lineup, as every player reached base at least once. Cleanup hitter Lucas Roobroeck led the way at the plate going 5 for 5, and 3 runs each were scored by Josh French, Jarrett Van Bakel, and Roobroeck. Extra base hits were recorded by Roobroeck, Van Bakel, Jack Small, Jack Miller, and Jordan Visneskie.
Defensively the infield was very solid all night, and key fly ball outs were recorded by outfielders Miller and Ryan Hubbard. The team travels to Kingsville this weekend for the OBA Championship. Good luck!!!
