Stickhandler Tier 1 Major Rookies defeat Lucan-Ilderton on road
The Stickhandler Tier 1 Major Rookies traveled to Denfield on July 13th to face Lucan-Ilderton. The locals were seeking revenge for an earlier loss at home this season, and the bats erupted in the first inning scoring the maximum 7 runs. Taking advantage of several Lucan-Ilderton throwing errors, Mitchell would again score 7 in the bottom of the 4th, returning home with a well-earned 22-9 victory. Brock Boville led the way at the plate, belting two triples and a double, and scoring all three times. Other hitters each scoring three times were Jarrett Van Bakel and Jordan Visneskie.
Defensive highlights included Ryan Hubbard and Visneskie combining to throw out a runner at the plate, and Josh French ranging deep into the hole at shortstop to come up with a ground ball to end a rally by the home team.
