First Win of the Season!
The Major Rookie Tier 2 - Team 1 headed to St. Marys for their first game on the road this season and came through with a 16-14 win. Despite the cool and windy temperatures, the Stars bats were hot with every player on the team getting on the base paths at least once during the game. The Rookies would score 2 runs in the first inning, and seven in each of the second and fourth innings. Base hits were pounded out by all players over the course of the game, with Hayden Nicholson and Blake Redfern each hitting doubles in the effort.
While in the field, outs were recorded by Redfern and Nicholson on first base during the early innings. St. Marys proved to be a hard hitting opponent keeping the score close, but Josie Walker and Redfern would work together making a great play at third base to record the final out of the game.
The team will face Grand Bend on Thursday of this week as they look for their first win at home this season.
