The Your Neighbourhood Credit Union Tier 2 Team 1 Major Rookies fell to Listowel 19-10 in their fourth game of the WOBA tournament held in Mitchell this weekend. The team played a strong game but Listowel's batters had good luck pounding the ball up the middle of the diamond. Outfielders Brooklyn Boville, Calum Harris, Carter O'Brien, Max Vandervelde, Lincoln Lorentz and Jacob Bice did a great job knocking down the ball and getting it back to the infield quickly. On day two of their WOBA tournament the Your Neighbourhood Credit Union Tier 2 Team 1 Major Rookies played two games and came away with a loss to Exeter and a win over Lieury. The morning game against Exeter saw both teams play strong defense in the close 10-3 game. Mitchell hit the ball well, but unfortunately their hits could not find the holes in the field and would only manage to get three runs home in the game. The Your Neighbourhood Credit Union Tier 2 Team 1 Mitchell Rookies bats were on a roll as they started off their WOBA year end tournament with a 25-3 win over Flesherton. Max Vandervelde, Charlie Geiger and Josie Walker all contributed doubles in the game. Walker crossed the plate four times, while Vandervelde, Geiger, Hayden Nicholson, Blake Redfern, Keegan Priestap, and Lincoln Lorentz all scored three and Carter O'Brien added two runs.

The Your Neighbourhood Credit Union Tier 2 Team 1 Major Rookies ended their regular season play on a high note with two wins this week.  Heavy hitting by the Astros would lead to a 25-18 win over Listowel on Monday and a 24-17 win over the Mitchell Tier 2 Team 2 Rookies on Wednesday. In Listowel, Brooklyn Boville and Hayden Nicholson would lead the scoring with four runs each while Charlie Geiger and Blake Redfern each pounded doubles for multiple runs batted in. The Major Rookie Tier 2 Team 1 Your Neighbourhoood Credit Union team travelled to Parkhill on one of the hottest days of the year and despite some great defense would come up a few runs short in the 7-4 loss. Charlie Geiger, Blake Redfern and Hayden Nicholson would snag grounders and knock down pop flies to record outs on the base paths in the five innings of play.  Offensively, the usually hard hitting team would struggle with high pitches from the machine, but Geiger and Redfern would connect with the ball for a double each while Nicholson, Josie Walker, Keegan Priestap, Brennan Ward, ...
