Major Rookies Suffer Loss to Grand Bend
The Your Neighbourhood Credit Union Major Rookie Tier 2 Team 1 travelled to Grand Bend on Monday night. The Rookies faced a hard hitting team that would come out on top with a score of 16-3. In the field, Mitchell would come up with some great defensive plays demonstrating that their hard work in practices is paying off. The Rookies would make great throws for outs on all the bases and catcher Keegan Priestap would make a heads up play at home plate to record an out. Other Rookies recording outs were Charlie Geiger, Blake Redfern, Josie Walker, Brennan Ward, Carter O'Brien, Max Vandervelde and Hayden Nicholson.
Mitchell would have some trouble scoring in the game despite having a solid night with the bats. Jacob Bice, Ward and Nicholson would score in the game with RBI's going to Walker, Geiger and Callum Harris.
The Rookies have a busy week next week with three games on the schedule against Lieury, Parkhill and Clinton.
