Rookies Battle From Behind To Get Win Against Lieury
After the first inning the Your Credit Union Major Rookie Tier 2 Team 1 players found themselves behind Lieury by a score of 7-1, but the Rookies would not give up without a fight! They would rally for a total of 25 runs in the game and would beat Lieury by a final score of 25-16.
Once the Rookies started to hit in the third inning, there was no turning back. Every player on the team would get on base with at least one single in the game with doubles going to Hayden Nicholson, Blake Redfern and Charlie Geiger. The Astros would score 24 runs from the third inning through the sixth.
After struggling in the first inning Mitchell would tighten up their defence as well with outs being made by Nicholson, Redfern, Lincoln Lorentz, and Josie Walker on the base paths. Catcher Keegan Priestap would also make a great force play at home plate to save a run.
The team will play Parkhill at home on Tuesday and travel to Clinton on Thursday of this week.
