Major Rookie Tier 2 - Mitchell 2, 9U Major Rookie, 2015 (Mitchell Minor Baseball)

In the second game of the WOBA championship tournament, the Walther's IDA tier 2 team came up against the Goderich Seahawks Black team.  Throughout the regular season, the Seahawks had outscored the Astros by a combined score of 57-18 in three games.  With that being said, the Seahawks came into the game as the heavy favourites.  However, the Astros would not rollover in this game, taking blow after blow and answering back with counter punches of their own in a very exciting ball game.  Mitchell would jump out to a 4-0 lead after the top of 1, but Goderich would answer back with 7.

The Walther's IDA tier 2 team finished the regular season with and 8-8 record which was good enough to get them into the Championship side of the tier 2 WOBA tournament.  They would enter as the 7 seed and face a strong 2 seed from Walkerton.  After a scoreless first, the Capitals from Walkerton scored the next 12 runs and would cruise to a 23-13 victory.

On Wednesday Aug 5th, the two Mitchell Tier 2 teams had their second meeting of the year.  The Mitchell 1 team would even the season series, handing Walther's IDA tier 2 team a 24-17 defeat.

At home on July 29, the Walther's IDA Tier 2 Major Rookie team suffered a lopsided loss to the visiting Goderich Seahawks Black Squad.  The visitors defeated the hometown Astros 26-6.  Joel Meinen went 3 for 3 at the plate for the home side.  Jordan Visneskie  had 2 hits, both doubles, and Nolan Vessie chipped in 2 hits and scored 2 runs.

Walther's IDA Tier 2 team took to the road last week for two games and came home winless.  On Tuesday July 21, the Astros travelled to North Middlesex to play the Parkhill team.  Parkhill proved a tough opponent and handed Mitchell a 15-7 loss.  The next night the Astros were back on the road to Goderich to play the top placed team.  The visiting Astros were leading after two innings, however the wheels fell off, and the Seahawks pulled out the 21-12 victory.
